Code of Conduct: Be Excellent to Each Other

The goal of this community is to foster an environment where we can all learn from each other, collaborate, and contribute. Psychological safety is a key component to allowing people to thrive, therefore we will not tolerate beligerent or harassing behavior of any kind.

We believe disagreement can lead to great learning opportunities but if, and only if, it is respectful. Our community members, like all humans, deserve to not be harassed regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, or religion.

If you do not abide by these rules, you will be expelled from our communities. An initial warning may occur but we don’t tolerate intolerance. See the paradox of tolerance.

We ask you abide by the rule of Bill and Ted: be excellent to each other.

Be inquisitive but be respectful. We expect there to be disagreements but there needs to be constructive conversation.

There are people in the community that want to help but patience is a virtue; it is not anyone’s job to answer your questions, they are doing it of their own time, please respect that.

We want to be as accommodating to accessibility issues as possible so if you have any feedback, please email us at info@datamesh.community. We want to do and be better.

While vendors are a crucial part of the data mesh movement, the data mesh community as governed by this site and by our partner, Data Mesh Learning, is not to be used to sell solutions/consulting. That does not mean you cannot mention your products but it does mean to use good judgement and not just sell. Always be helping and learning, not always be closing.

If you are the subject of harassment or you see others being harassed, please reach out to info@datamesh.community for a confidential discussion.
